Dark Chocolate Almond Butter Love Cups
This lemonade isn’t just refreshing—it’s balanced.
Fiber + fats + natural sugars + minerals help prevent blood sugar spikes while supporting digestion, energy, and cellular health.
Ingredients:
2 cups filtered water
1 whole lemon.
3 dates, pitted
Pinch of high-quality salt (Celtic or Himalayan)
⅛ teaspoon Ceylon cinnamon
Small pieces of fresh ginger (to taste)
1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil (EVOO)
1 tablespoon raw honey or pure maple syrup
Directions
Blend on high for 1–2 minutes until smooth.
Server with some ice
Dates
A natural source of fiber, potassium, magnesium, and gentle sweetness. Dates help stabilize blood sugar when blended with fiber and fats, unlike refined sugar.
Ceylon Cinnamon
Known as “true cinnamon,” it supports blood sugar balance, reduces oxidative stress, and adds warmth without overpowering the flavor. Ceylon cinnamon is milder, sweeter, and safer for daily use due to very low coumarin, while common cinnamon, is stronger, spicier, cheaper, and contains much more coumarin, making it potentially harmful in large doses.
Fresh Ginger
Stimulates digestion, supports circulation, reduces inflammation, and adds a gentle thermogenic effect that can support metabolism.
It aids in digestion, boosts immunity and supports brain health.
Honey
Provides natural sweetness along with trace minerals and antioxidants. Honey offers antimicrobial properties, while maple syrup provides zinc and manganese. I like to use raw, organic honey.
Benefits
Whole Lemon
Using the whole lemon (flesh + peel if organic) delivers vitamin C, flavonoids, and fiber that support digestion, liver function, immune health, and skin vitality. Lemon peel contains powerful antioxidants often lost in juice-only recipes.
Salt
Adds essential minerals that support hydration, adrenal health, and electrolyte balance—especially helpful in the morning or after fasting. Good, natural salt is like a mineral supplement you do not have to buy, instead of taking a supplement, use this salt in your recipes, There a few good salts but I like Celtic because it has magnesium.
Extra-Virgin Olive Oil
Healthy monounsaturated fats support hormone health, reduce inflammation, enhance absorption of fat-soluble nutrients, and help keep blood sugar steady. It helps the body absorb all the other nutrients in this drink. It is a beautiful, natural emulsifier that gives it a creamy consistency.
Water
Provides hydration, supports circulation, digestion, and nutrient transport.
