You Don't Have to Choose Between Your Diagnosis and Your Life.
Evidence-informed health education and lifestyle strategies for women navigating autoimmune disease, rooted in science, and in 18 years of lived experience.
I'm not here to tell you to just think positive and take your supplements. I'm here to share what the research says and what I personally learned about how food, blood sugar, and daily habits influence the immune system. Knowledge is the first step. And most women with autoimmune disease are never given enough of it.
Five years ago, I could not walk a mile without stopping to rest.
Today, I'm in my early fifties, I've run a half-marathon, and I've been managing my health without MS medication, under consistent neurological care and monitoring, for three years.
I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2008, after years of being dismissed and misdiagnosed. I also had Rheumatoid Arthritis, diagnosed at age seven and severe eczema that tortured me most of my adult life. I have spent the better part of two decades becoming a student of my own body and of the science behind autoimmune disease, inflammation, and nutrition.
I'm now a certified Autoimmune Holistic Nutrition Specialist. Everything I share here is grounded in published research, established nutritional science, and my own documented personal experience, offered as general health education, not medical or individualized nutrition advice.
Does This Sound Familiar?
You've been told your labs are "within range" but you feel terrible.
You're eating "healthy" but your fatigue, inflammation, and brain fog haven't budged.
You're not sure which foods are well-documented to support immune health and which ones aren't.
You're exhausted by extreme protocols that weren't designed with autoimmune physiology in mind.
You want health information that is grounded in real science not a detox kit and a prayer.
The struggle is real. It is hard to know how to start. Sometimes what's missing is simply clear, honest, well-sourced education and a framework that makes it actionable.
I have developed a method.
The U-T.U.R.N Method: A Framework for General Autoimmune Wellness
U-T.U.R.N is a five-step educational framework built around the lifestyle factors most supported by research in autoimmune health - inflammation reduction, blood sugar regulation, gut health, hormone balance, and sustainable daily habits. It is designed as general health and wellness education, applicable to the broad population of women navigating autoimmune conditions.
U — Understand Learn the science behind what drives inflammation and immune dysregulation and why so many women are affected.
T — Target Explore the food patterns, lifestyle habits, and environmental inputs that research consistently links to increased inflammatory load.
U — Unwind Understand how reducing common dietary and lifestyle stressors as documented in peer-reviewed literature can support the body's natural regulatory processes.
R — Rebuild Learn which nutritional strategies and daily practices are most supported by evidence for immune function, hormonal balance, and gut health.
N — Normalize Build sustainable routines, not extreme protocols, that reflect what the science shows about long-term lifestyle consistency.
Why Blood Sugar Is at the Center of Autoimmune Health
This is one of the most well-documented and most under-discussed connections in autoimmune research.
Repeated glucose spikes are linked in published literature to pro-inflammatory cytokine activity, hormonal disruption, and increased immune dysregulation. For women managing autoimmune conditions, this isn't a side note, the research positions it as a central mechanism. It’s a relatively easy target for quick results which delivers the highest impact.
Most general dietary advice for MS and other autoimmune conditions doesn't address blood sugar directly. That gap is a significant part of why so many women feel like they're doing everything right and still not seeing results.
I spent years personally exploring keto, fasting, fiber-forward eating, and continuous glucose monitoring while studying the published science behind each approach. What that process revealed is documented in the research: blood sugar stability has measurable downstream effects on inflammation, energy, hormones, and immune behavior. (Read my article about me exploring and testing different diets here.)
That body of evidence is what I teach here as general health education available to anyone who wants to understand it.

What's Possible When You Work With Your Body Instead of Against It
My own journey from barely walking a mile to running 13.1, from multiple MS medications to medically supervised lifestyle management, from dismissed and exhausted to clearer and stronger in my fifties than I was in my thirties is one data point. Not a promise. Not a prescription. But a demonstration of what consistent, science-informed lifestyle work can look like.
Yelena, thanks to you, I've got a new Saturday routine - Farmers Market and coffee with my mom, breakfast with my family with fresh veggies. Thank you for reminding me that health can be simple, joyful, and shared with the people we love.

Thank you! Following you inspired me to take better care of myself. I’m eating better, moving more, and actually enjoying it. Your positive energy makes healthy living feel fun and doable.

Blood Sugar Control is Foundational.
What If the Cravings Were Trying to Tell You Something?
When blood glucose spikes repeatedly, the body releases inflammatory signals as part of its response. For someone whose immune system is already operating in overdrive, those spikes are harmful. This is also exactly why blood sugar stability became the foundation of my PMS and Sugar Cravings Control System. Because when glucose is unstable, everything downstream gets louder: the cravings, the mood swings, the fatigue, the flares.
If you’re done fighting cravings and ready to feel metabolically safe
👉 Get the PMS Sugar Cravings Control System
Inside, you’ll learn how to adjust protein, carbs, and meal timing to stabilize blood sugar, reduce inflammation, and prevent the late-night sugar spiral before it starts.
This system walks you through exactly what to eat, when to eat it, and how to build hormone-safe sweets into your meals during the PMS window.
You’ll get blood sugar stabilization formulas, anti-inflammatory food swaps, and craving interruption strategies that work with your cycle, not against it. This is hormone-aware blood sugar strategy, not restriction.
You’ll know how to structure your meals, build stabilizing desserts, and stop a craving spiral within minutes without gaining extra weight.
Control the week.
Keep the sweets (not refined).
Protect your hormones.
Know Better. Feel Better.
